FAIRY-TALE WEDDING, SINTRA
This wedding planning process was another great challenge for our team. After multiple postponements, due to Covid, we were finally able to make Fernanda and Carlos’ dream come true. This couple are from Brazil and all their guests comes from this tropical land, to celebrate their love.
Fernanda is one of the most elegant women I’ve ever met and for her wedding day we couldn’t choose any other venue than the Penha Longa Monastery, in Sintra, one of the best wedding venues in Portugal. The venue it’s really a Monastery, located inside Penha Longa Resort. The resort has the hotel with 196 rooms, 7 restaurants, spa, gym and tennis courts, and golf course. The Monastery is on a separate building from the hotel meaning it has no noise restriction nor time limitation. Perfect!
After we have the perfect venue, we challenged ourselves to utilize different spaces on the stunning property so that no experience would feel the same. For the ceremony, here in fact it was not a choice, as the bride was very religious, it would have to be in the church that is inside the monastery itself. It was a moment of true emotion and faith, which left all the guests very emotional.
For the cocktail we chose one of the two main gardens in the monastery and the party begins right away, after all our guests are Brazilians.
The magic continued at the reception dinner hosted at “Salão Nobre”, a special room in the monastery, where we created a stunning atmosphere with a long and elegant table, because we knew it would satisfy the bride and groom’s desire to keep the family together. We had beautiful speeches to the rhythm of a true gastronomic festival that demonstrates the richness of Portuguese gastronomy.
After a splendid dinner like this, we would have to have a fantastic party. For this our team chose the old Cloisters of the monastery where all the guests had fun to the sound of Brazilian rhythms. He had some special moments during the party, like the couple first dance and the cut of the cake. We finish the night with a true Portuguese favour, a bottle of Port wine.
Two years in the making, Fernanda and Carlos´s destination wedding, in Sintra was made possible by their unwavering trust in our team, which we thank from the bottom of our hearts!
