PORTUGUESE SUMMER WEDDING, PORTO
When we had our first meeting – online meeting, because Melanie and Jason live in Canada, they were truly lost, they only had the wedding venue and didn’t know how to organize the entire wedding, with international guests and guests from Portugal, as their roots were here in Portugal. We love these types of challenges!
Our team immediately started styling the entire wedding, which would take place in the middle of summer. But one of the tasks was done, as the venue is really fantastic and it won’t be our first job there, which makes our planning process a lot easier. Positioned on the banks of the Douro River, with a truly fantastic view of the city, Torre Bella is one of the best wedding venues in Porto.
But we had a few more challenges to overcome. During our planning process the bride was pregnant and in very little mood to make decisions. At the time of the wedding, our little Olivia would be 3 months old. But as our team doesn’t give up easily, we got to work and quickly found all the solutions.
Fortunately for us, right next to the wedding venue there is a really stunning hotel, which would solve the issue of having such a small baby, Vinha Boutique hotel. Elegant, luxurious and a great option for the couple’s getting ready. One more issue resolved.
As the months went by, we designed all the details for the wedding day, so that everything was resolved when the couple arrived a few days before the wedding. It is at these times that our experience of more than 12 years as a destination wedding planner comes in handy.
For the ceremony, we design a beautiful set up in the garden and we have a unique and unforgettable wedding procession, led by the groom with our little Olivia on his lap. What a moment!
After the cocktail, which took place in other venue’s beautiful garden, we invited all guests to enter the dining room, which was magnificently decorated by the venue’s own stylist team. The dinner takes place, with traditional Portuguese food and the party started immediately, on the dance floor elegantly decorated, once again by the in-house styling team. What a great team!
We felt that another mission was accomplished, when the couple told us that without our help, none of this would have happened.
